Wrapping Up an Incredible Year at the SWVHJA Annual
McDonald Equine had an incredible year, and we couldn’t have imagined a better way to wrap it up than at the SWVHJA Annual Horse Show! It was a weekend full of amazing rides, beautiful horses, and so many proud moments for our team.
Katherine Hall & Chicago Man
Katherine and “Chicago” made their first-ever Annual appearance and absolutely crushed it—earning Champion in the Long Stirrup Hunter and Reserve Champion in the Long Stirrup Equitation.
Alexis Hinds & Envy
Alexis and Envy were Champion in the Intermediate Equitation out of 20 riders! Their consistent performances earned three 1st place ribbons and a 2nd place in the over-fences classes. They also finished 3rd in the Hollins Medal Finals and 5th in the $1000 2'6" Derby—as the highest-scoring junior rider in the class!
Sydney Tuckwiller & Bonfire
Sydney and Bonfire earned a First in the Ring award, took home Best Turned Out, and finished with two 6th-place ribbons in the Special Adults division.
Lizzie Hall & Wisdom of Oz (owned by Torie Pass)
This talented pair placed 🥉 3rd in the Non-Pro Handy out of a competitive field of 36 horses.
Ellen Gerdus & Uptown
Ellen and Uptown had beautiful trips in the Hopefuls division, finishing 4th in the flat out of 21 riders!
Anna Lucy & Back to the Future
Anna Lucy took on both the Hopefuls and the Jumpers this weekend, earning a 6th place out of 21 in the Hopeful Hunter Under Saddle.
Maysen Veitz & Livin the Dream
In their Annual debut, Maysen and Livin the Dream impressed in the Thoroughbreds with two outstanding over-fences trips, earning two 5th place ribbons in a large division.
Lindsay Klein & Cassanova’s Fiddler
Lindsay and Fiddler placed 6th in a Special Adult Over Fences class, helping secure an incredible 2nd place in the year-end standings!
Jennifer Hendrix & Gaylord Captain
Jennifer and Captain shined in the Low Hunter Under Saddle, finishing 6th out of 21 competitors.
Alexis Hinds & Fergalicious
Alexis and Fergie rode to a 3rd place finish in the Non-Pro Pony Handy, while Liz Hinds took the reins to earn 2nd in the .75 Stakes—a great weekend for Team Fergie!

Kayleigh had the opportunity to show a few wonderful horses as well:
Legally Blonde (owned by Burke LLC) earned 3rd, 4th, and 6th in the 3' Green Hunters.
Gaylord Captain (owned by Jennifer Hendrix) was 5th in the Green Hunter Under Saddle.
Bonfire finished 3rd, 4th, and 6th in the Green Hunters, and also 5th in the Low Hunter Under Saddle out of 21 entries.
