Virginia Tech Emily Jane Memorial Horse Show 2026

McDonald Equine headed down the road to the closest SWVHJA show of the year at Virginia Tech to compete in the Emily Jane Hilscher Memorial Horse Show in Blacksburg, VA. We brought a small group of 4 horses to show and 2 more to school. We’re proud of everyone’s efforts and can’t wait to be back out again with all these riders and horses.

Alexis Hinds and Envy:

  • 3’ Children’s Hunter Debut

  • Sunday Night Derby: 2nd

Chris Wohlwend and Porte More:

  • Pleasure Hunters- Reserve Champion!

Kayleigh Burke and Gaylord Captain:

  • Low Hunters: Champion

Jennifer Hendrix and Gaylord Captain:

  • Special Adults- 4th on the flat

Kayleigh Burke and CSM Champagne Toast:

  • Green Hunter: Champion

Anna Grace Boteler and CSM Champagne Toast:

  • Special Adults- Great rides

  • Sunday Derby: 3rd

Kayleigh Burke and CSM Presidential:

  • Pleasure Hunters- Debut

Additionally, Blondie came on Saturday evening after the show to school. After a long winter break she is ready to jump straight into the show ring when her rider returns from college.
