Success at the Region 3 Connemara Show

This past weekend, Noelle Hassler represented McDonald Equine at the Region 3 Connemara Show held at the Virginia Horse Center, and we couldn’t be more proud of her and her mount, Cruz. The pair had a fantastic showing, finishing 2nd overall in the Connemara Does It All Award—an all-around title recognizing versatility and performance across multiple disciplines.

Show Highlights for Noelle and Cruz:

  • 1st – Training Level Dressage

  • 1st – Purebred Undersaddle

  • 2nd – Dressage Trail 1 & 2

  • 4th – Gelding Conformation

  • 4th & 5th – 2’6” Purebred Over Fences

  • 5th – Open Trail

Their strong results across such a variety of classes truly showcased the talent and versatility of both horse and rider.

Another special moment from the weekend came courtesy of Lizzie (registered as Liz’s Devine Legacy), a 3-year-old Connemara who made a big impression in her first show outings. Lizzie, who was started under saddle by Joe from February through April 2025, took 1st place in the In-Hand Trail Class out of 24 entries with her owner.

She also turned heads in the costume class, making an adorable debut as a fire engine. It was a joy to see this young pony out and about, showing off her calm temperament and great foundation.

We're thrilled with the results from the Region 3 Connemara Show and love seeing our horses and riders thrive in such diverse settings. Congratulations to Noelle, Cruz, Lizzie, and her owner for a weekend full of accomplishments and fun moments!

Stay tuned for more fall show updates from McDonald Equine.
